On this page you will find a list of requirements for the specific Staff positions available on this wiki, as well as all current Staff and possible Staff position openings.

What Each Position Does

Here is a few brief descriptions as to what each Staff does and their role within the wiki.

Technician (Bureaucrat)

  • This is the highest possible level of Staff that can be achieved.
  • Technicians work with the basic coding of the wiki and are responsible for keeping it looking good.
  • They also can add and remove the rights of other users.
  • Technicians are also the basic technical support of the wiki and help to fix bugs and aid new users when it comes to creating pages and such.

Admin

  • Admin is the second highest level on this wiki.
  • Administrators are mostly responsible for keeping the wiki feel safe.
  • They can block users and can protect pages, as well as delete unneeded ones.
  • Mostly, Admins are just Technicians that aren't technology savvy.

Chat Mod

  • Chat Mods are one step down from Admins.
  • Chat Mods only have power in chat, meaning they can ban and kick other users from chat only.
  • They usually are users who are trusted to keep order in the chat.

Content Moderator

  • These users are at one of the lowest levels and are Admins-in-Training.
  • They have the ability to delete and undelete pages, protect them, and revert any bad edits.
  • They cannot edit user rights.

Discussion Moderator

  • Discussion Mods are at one of the lowest levels of the totem pole.
  • They can close and move threads in the forums.
  • They can also remove unsightly replies on threads.
  • They cannot edit user rights.

Translator

  • Translators are at the very bottom of the Staff totem pole.
  • They do not have any added powers.
  • Their main job is to translate any articles, or interpret for any users who do not speak English.

Standards

Admin

  1. Must be active. (On the wiki at least once a week.)
  2. Must have at least 3 months experience with the wiki.
  3. Must have a minimum of 250 edits.
  4. Must edit at least once a week.
  5. Must be approved by a majority of current Staff.

Technician (Bureaucrat)

  1. Must have technical knowledge.
  2. Must be active.
  3. Must have 2 month experience with the wiki.
  4. Must have a minimum of 150 edits.
  5. Must be present on chat at least once a week.
  6. Must be willing to assist others if necessary.
  7. Must be approved by a majority of current Staff.

Chat Mod

  1. Must be on chat at least 3 times a week.
  2. Must have 3 month experience with the wiki.
  3. Must have a minimum of 200 edits.
  4. Must be willing to assist others if necessary.
  5. Must be approved by a majority of current staff.

Moderator [Discussions]

  1. Must be active.
  2. Must have at least 100 edits.
  3. Must check forums regularly.
  4. Must be approved by a majority of current Staff.

Moderator [Content]

  1. Must be an active editor.
  2. Must have 1 month experience with the wiki.
  3. Must have a minimum of 200 edits.
  4. Must be competent when it comes to creating and expanding pages.

Translator

  1. Must be fluent in at least one language other than English.
  2. Preferred languages are: Spanish, Amalou, Daemek, Portuguese and Japanese.
  3. Must be good at working with others.
  4. Must be friendly.

Please note that these standards do not have to be entirely met, but should be met as fully as possible. Also if an individual is seen to be exceptional for a Staff position, current Staff can unanimously and instantaneously make that person a part of the Dream Dimension Wiki Staff.

Grounds for Demotion

Here is some of the things that can trigger a Staff member being demoted.

  1. If a Staff member is inactive for over a month
  2. If a Staff member abuses power
  3. If a Staff member posts something staggeringly offensive/outright offends someone
  4. If a Staff member seems unable to do the job/shows incompetency when it comes to work
  5. If a Staff member is a bad sport
